The Cruisin' Rebels was formed in December of 1993 by the "Original Nine" spoken of frequently. Even though we've grown tremendously since that first meeting, we've reached and maintained all the goals, hopes & dreams we hoped for our future.
The Rebels have always prided themselves with the work they do for their community, not only putting on fundraisers, but also working with numerous outside promotors for the betterment of our community.
As a family-oriented group, the Rebels also put on an annual Box Car Show & Picnic, a gigantic Christmas Party,  and monthly cruises parading through town. Our Box Car Shows are growing to be more fun every year - great food, raffles, box cars & games.  Another event we've participated in is helping the March of Dimes Jail & Bail   fundraiser ! ! This was so much fun for the bunch of us "retiree's" that participated - we got to take an "Arrest Warrant" to a business and bring in our "Perp". Most of the time the person being hauled to jail was the boss so the employees usually were there applauding the arrest. The "perp" then was put in jail and had to try to raise five hundred dollars in donations over the phone - then they could return to work. We all loved helping with this event - met some really nice people.  And gosh, the annual Christmas Party - this was the most fun yet ! What a great way to end the year - good food, fantastic raffles & table decorations, and the very best of friends to share it all with.  The Rebels formed the "Whistle While You Wait" campaign in conjunction with the Klamath Search & Rescue, purchasing and distributing free whistles and literature to area kids. The schools have been teaching the kids on how to stay safe when separated from their parents or group by simply blowing these whistles. It's been shown by the Sheriff's department that these whistles are a hundred times louder and more effective than yelling for help. The Rebels accomplishments also includes the large success of the local Childrens Miracle Network Fundraiser each year, meeting and surpassing our goal every year. The Rebels have also donated to Toys for Tots and the Food Bank.

In 2000, the Rebels put on their very first Show n' Shine Fundraiser for Harbor House, a home for battered women, and despite the "liquid sunshine", raised over thirty-three hundred dollars for Harbor House & the Klamath Crisis Center. We hope this will be the first of many - it was a fantastic success! 2001 our club was asked to help out the farming community and, as usual, our members came out in full force. We helped raise monies for the Malin 4th of July Car Display that same year and then put on our First Annual Spudtacular Car Display for Merrill. Both were great success's and for the year 2002 we be put on our 2nd Annual Spudtacular Car Show.

AND - every Wednesday night for the last few years we've held a Friendship Dinner at Elmers .  This begins about 5:00 and goes till whenever everyone's chowed out or talked out.
